fixed price work হল এমন সব কাজ যার মুল্য পূর্ব নির্ধারিত থাকে। নতুন দের জন্য এ সকল কাজে বিড না করাই ভাল, কারন, এ সকল কাজে টাকা পাওয়ার নিশ্চয়তা কম, মানে কোন গ্যারান্টি নাই। ধরেন আপনি একটি 50$ এর fixed price কাজ করলেন, অনেক কষ্ট করে কাজটি করলেন এবং তা আপনার বায়ারকে (যিনি কাজ দিয়েছিলেন) তা সাবমিট করলেন, এখন আপনার বায়ার তা পছন্দ করল না বা বায়ার শয়তানি করেই তা পছন্দ করল না, এখন সে যদি আপনাকে টাকা না দেয় তাহলে আপনি কিছুই করতে পারবেন না, আপনি যদি চান ওই ক্লাইন্টের নামে odesk এর কাছে নালিশ করতে তবে আপনি তা করতে পারবেন। এর ফলে ওই বায়ার আপনাকে despot দিবেন, এর অর্থ হল আপনি আপনার কাজটি সুন্দর ভাবে করতে না পারায় আপনার বায়ারের সাথে আপনার পেমেন্ট নিয়ে ঝামেলা হয়েছে। ফলে odesk এর একটি টিম মেসেজ এর মাধ্যমে আপনার ও আপনার বায়ারের কথা শুনবেন ও সিদ্ধান্ত নিবেন, আপনি কাজটি করতে পারেন নাই নাকি আপনার বায়ার আপনার সাথে দুই নাম্বারি করছেন। ঘটনা যাই হোক না কেন তাদের এই পর্যবেক্ষণ এর ফলাফল কিন্তু একই তারা আপনার বায়ার কেই সাপোর্ট করবে, তার কারন আপনি যদি না থাকেন ফলে তাদের তেমন কোন লস নেই, আপনি যে কাজটা করতেন তা অন্য কেউ করবে, কিন্তু বায়ার যদি না থাকে তাহলে তারা একজন কাজ দাতাকে হারাবেন যাদের দিয়েই odesk এর ব্যাবসা। ফলে আপনি কাজ+টাকা+আপনার রেপুটেশন সব হারাবেন। সাথে সাথে আপনার প্রোফাইলে one disput লেখা হয়ে যাবে, ফলে আপনি যখন অন্য কোন কাজে বিড করবেন তখন ক্লাইন্ট আপনার প্রোফাইলে গিয়ে দেখবে one disput তার মানে, তখনি তিনি ধরে নিবেন যে, আপনি কাজ পারেন না। তাই ভুলেও নতুন অবস্থায় fixed price এর কাজে বিড করবেন না।
